Let's say that the healthcare bill gets through the Senate and returns to the House and both House and Senate manage to come together on a healthcare bill. If the Stupak Amendment remains attached at that point, (MOST unlikely that the House would allow it to stand - but if it did...) Obama plans to strip it from the final bill as he prepares to sign it.
Neither Obama or the House of Representatives are at all listening to the people. The majority of Americans oppose federal funding of abortion at this point, and the most of them who oppose it do so under any circumstances except where it is necessary to save the life of the mother or in the cases of incest. So, why won't they listen to the people and abide by their wishes? Simple. They are NOT in office to do the will of the people, but to use the power of their offices to push through their liberal/progressive agenda which does not reflect the majority of Americans but the few who happen to agree with them - special interest groups, both political and corporate. Isn't this supposed to be a DEMOCRACY where the majority rules.... or a Republic where the PEOPLE rule? Apparently the United States of America is neither anymore!
It's amazing what one can learn when they get out of the small world of their own minds. Jeremiah Wright spewed hatred against the government for causing hardship on the black population. Here is one very interesting quote:
“The great irony is that abortion has done what the Klan only dreamed of.... Roughly one quarter of the black population is now missing.” Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., has long been a strong opponent of killing the unborn.
NOTE: There's a slight of hand going on here as well..... the hubbub over the abortion portion of this bill is overshadowing the Public Option portion. Don't be distracted on either of these issues as this healthcare debate continues.

Social Security Sucks You Into Gov't Healthcare
Brian Hall is a senior citizen. He is suing the government over its current mandatory healthcare practices.
Huh?! We don't have a national healthcare bill passed yet, but he's got problems with government-run healthcare already? You betcha!
When Brian turned 65, even though he had private healthcare insurance he wanted to keep, he was forced by the government to enroll in Medicare. That meant he would have to give up his private health insurance which he believed was better than what Medicare offered. He contacted the Department of Health and Human Services and the Social Security Administration and was told he could not opt out of Medicare.
Actually what the Social Security Administration said was that even though he paid into Social Security for his entire working career, he cannot opt out of Medicare without giving up his Social Security. So, he consulted with his own attorneys and he's now suing the government for what he rightfully deserves - his Social Security check.... without the strings of Medicare attached.
We know that Medicare and Social Security are virtually financially broke or soon will be. Actually, Social Security will pay out more in 2010 than they take in. Medicare will be bankrupt within five years. So why are these government's entitlement programs forcing seniors into their healthcare program?
If seniors have the ability to pay for their own hospitalization coverage through private insurance, from a financial standpoint, doesn't it make better sense to let them do it and get them out of the money pit of Medicare? Why won't the government allow seniors to opt out of their most costly portion of their program, Medicare Part A which covers hospital insurance?
The answer is because with each person who opted out of Medicare, it would require the government to give up a small piece of power, and that would put a crack in their universal healthcare plan. They do not want anyone to be able to exercise their legal right to pay for private insurance if that's what the people prefer. So, if you ignorant enough to think that your private insurance will survive if a public option (of any version) gets into healthcare reform, think again!
Just so we're clear, there is no law that says any Social Security recipient must subscribe to Medicare, but some "backdoor" administrative measures which were adopted back about 16 years ago by these entitlement programs are what they are using to push seniors into enrolling in Medicare Part A -- under the threat of losing their Social Security. This current policy is a violation of the individual's right to make their own healthcare choices; and further, it violates both the Social Security and Medicare laws.
So, if this is a foreshadowing of what is to come under the ObamaCare or BaucuSCARE, then even if a "private option" remains on the table along with the "public option", policies have already been put into place that can be adopted across the board which will eventually eliminate the option to chose private insurance or to opt out of Medicare, thereby forcing you out of your private insurance coverage into a governmental plan for health care coverage.
This slight of hand, this political mumbo-jumbo (is it a public option or is it a co-op?), these scare tactics cannot be allowed any longer. Call it what it is. And if you talk to people about the issue, point out the deceptions.

Obama Looks for Healthcare Breakthrough
It still is amazing to me how totally out of touch with the American people our elected officials in Washington are. It is as if the town hall events which took place during August and the huge numbers of protesters who marched in Washington in September just didn't exist to them. It's as if there weren’t major poll results on critical issues that document people’s opinions which are opposing the proposed healthcare and expressing grave concern about the budget deficit. But the Obama administration and Congress are not recognizing the validity of the voices of the majority of Americans who have said "No" to Obamacare. It's obvious that Obama hasn't heard the people. This fact was evidenced in the content of his media blitz this past Sunday. In spite of losing ground in the healthcare debate, President Barack is pushing even harder for his reform by appearing on five major networks in one day, spouting much of the same rhetoric as he has all along. In one of the interviews, Obama said that his message is sometimes not “breaking through.” He said, “I think there have been times where I have said, ’I’ve got to step up my game in terms of talking to the American people about issues like health care.’”
Well, his position on healthcare reform been stated many times, and in many ways - sometimes with public option and sometimes with government run co-ops instead. Congress doesn’t appear to be listening either. Well, that's not exactly accurate. Nancy Pelosi seems to have heard something - even if they are the old voices in her head from the past! But the American people are informed. They have read the information for themselves in the HR3200 and Baucus bills. The result is they just don’t want it.
When Obama was asked by the interviewer if he had lost control of the health debate, Obama said, “Well, not so much lost control, but where I’ve said to myself, somehow I’m not breaking through.” Oh, no! I think he's wrong. I believe he got through alright - months ago! The American people have heard, and the American people have been speaking. His message has been rejected. But he isn't listening – to the people!
Further, he doesn't want to hear. He and his minions have their own agendas they are going to push through regardless of what the masses say. And, yes, they are playing the game of politics, and it’s well known that Democrats own the ball, bat, gloves, and they are even threatening to inappropriately apply obscure rules so they can “win” the game while ignoring the voices of any opposition.
The mandate to the President comes from the people; the President and Congress are not supposed to mandate what the people should do or have. That isn’t constitutional; it’s not democratic. It sounds more like the foundation for a dictatorship (especially when people who are not elected or constitutionally vetted are given policy making powers, but that’s another topic).
But apparently people-mandate isn’t the way this group in Washington operates. They all still appear to be going on with their business as usual, pushing their agendas through with no regard to the majority of the American people who have made their positions abundantly clear.
If I’m wrong, then I guess I obtained a skewed understanding of how things are supposed to work or was incorrectly taught during my government-run education, but I believe that when the American people speak, whether in town hall meetings or in protest rallies or express their opinions in polls, it's the responsibility of their elected representatives to listen. And in a democracy the majority is supposed to prevail. All of our elected officials are supposed to listen to the majority voice of the people – and our “elected officials” means the House, the Senate, and the President!

Townhall Fever Pitch No Longer As Hot?
It appears that the "volume" of the townhalls has quieted down somewhat. In their struggle to find some way to stop the movement that the Democrats have called "astroturf", some of them are not even holding townhall meetings. Some Democrats are requiring photo IDs before allowing people into their townhall meetings. Some are changing their venues at the last minute and sending out invitations with the location and time, making it virtually "By Invitation Only". Some are filling the front of the rooms with planted "friendly" constituents or staffers, and some of attendees have been well identified as SEIU or ACORN who are being shuttled into the rooms through side entries before the doors are open to the public, all in an attempt to quell the "rowdiness" that was demonstrated by frustrated Conservatives, moderate Democrats, and informed Independents.
Have these tactics been effective? I believe that they have been as we see the Dems scurring to counteract what's been happening. However, the Rassmussen Polls are showing that the support of the Healthcare bill is longer falling. In fact, the numbers have been static for the last couple weeks. There has also been much said in the media about the Democrats ramming through this legislation through under the Resolution of Ratification measure. (If they do, they'll be using a procedure in an unconstitutional way.) My concern at present is that perhaps some of the "fire in the belly" of the conservatives has been extinguished or been replaced with the feeling of helplessness, in part because of this threat. We must not let these radicals and their moderate "sheep" intimidate us. That was our past. That's what got us where we are today. We must keep the pressure on.
Be encouraged. Most Americans are still opposed to the healthcare plan. Sixty-two percent say they have a better idea on how to spend tax money than Congress does. Seventy percent say they favor fewer services and lower taxes. Sixty-four percent have an unfavorable opinion of Nancy Pelosi, and Obama's and Harry Reid's are falling precipitously as well. Only 36 % approve of Eric Holder appointing a special prosecutor to investigation the CIA interrogation of the terrorists and 54% say that his persistence in doing this is harmful to our nation's security. (By the way, who's driving that bus? Is Obama speaking out of both of his faces?) And finally, somewhat surprisingly, 55% now say that closing Guantanamo is a bad idea. But we knew that all along, didn't we? So, it does appear that our voices are being reflected in the polls. And we know that Washington thrives on polls.
I understand that it's difficult to feel passionately about something, to take the effort to make a public stand, and then to find yourself ridiculed, ignored, slandered, and maligned by the very people we sent to Washington, DC to represent our wishes. Perhaps that's why many of us who are now speaking out have not done so in the past. We were intimidated. However, now is not the time to become intimidated by their threat to ram this piece of legislation down our throats through this "backdoor trick" called Resolution of Ratification. Democrats have been crying "foul" over the opposition to the healthcare bill. But their threat of ramming it though in this manner prompts me to ask, truly where is the foul? Now is definitely not the time to quiet our outcries or to soften our rhetoric or stay home from rallies or townhall meetings.
Perhaps the Democrats have found a way to "quiet" the crowds at the townhalls, but that doesn't mean that the conservative voice of reason cannot still be heard as loud and clear as possible. In fact, it must be heard if this nation is to survive. Remember, we have the power of the vote and the thing that these professional politicians want more than for the healthcare bill to pass is to remain in office. Therefore, we must follow through in the next election and allow them their right to rejoin the masses.
There still are other issues that we must watch for and speak out on as well. If your Senators or Representatives have already held their townhall meetings in your area, begin to organize an effort to be heard on other issues, for instance, the Cap and Trade (aka, Cap and Tax). This is a mean tax which will affect everyone at all levels of the socio-economic scale. We need to be heard on this bill as well as the others that are pending in the House and Senate.
And while we're speaking out, let's not be silent on the Czars issue. I believe that a fifth grader would know that this layer of "officials" is unconstitutional. Why are our senators and representatives sitting on their hands with their mouths silent? Are they not "smarter than a fifth grader"? How and why have they been allowed to be put into position with no questions, no accountability? What has happened to our constitutional system of checks and balances? We cannot allow this to continue. In fact, we must speak up now and put a stop to this before it becomes the new "format" for our government!
So, if you are losing heart that you're not being heard by your Senators or Representatives, write them letters. Email is easy, a phone call is only a little more difficult. But to really get their attention, write a handwritten note simply stating your position or concerns on all these issues. This carries much more weight with them than any other form of contact. In fact, it multiplies the effect of your communication by about 15 times! So, write a hand-written note! Let your "voice" be heard and really count, over and over and over! Don't lower your voice. Don't quit showing up at townhalls and rallies. But do write those notes.... these written questions and concerns are not "shut out" by the "invited" SEIU and ACORN people showing up on buses!
